Caolan Irwin – 2018 Irish “Young Racer of the Year”

22 year old Caolán Irwin is a proven winner both at home in Ireland and abroad and his performances have marked him out as one of Ireland’s most exciting Motorcycle Racing talents.

In 2020 Caolán faced another major challenge as he tackled his third season in the British Superstock 600 class at the British Superbike Championship. Having won the 2018 Irish Masters Superbike Championship ‘Young Racer of the Year’ award Caolán has used that award and its support package to further his British Championship career and is now one of the recognised rising stars in the British Superbike paddock.

CAOLÁN’S ACHIEVEMENTS

2020 – COMPETING IN BSB SUPERSTOCK 600 CHAMPIONSHIP
4th in the British Championship.
2 second places.
3 third places.
1 pole position.

2019 – COMPETING IN BSB SUPERSTOCK 600 CHAMPIONSHIP & IRISH MASTERS
Took first win at the BSB National Superstock 600 championship.
Finished ninth overall in the BSB NAtional Superstock 600 Championshipl.

Took three Supersport race wins from three starts at the Irish Masters Superbike Championhsip.
Raced in the UK with the backing of the Irish ‘Young Racer of the Year’ award.

2018 – COMPETING IN BSB SUPERSTOCK 600 CHAMPIONSHIP & IRISH MASTERS
Took first podium at the BSB National Superstock 600 championship.
Finished ninth overall in first season competing at BSB level.

Took first ever Supersport win at the Masters.
Secured five Masters podiums.
Finished ninth in the Masters Supersport Championship having completed only five of the twenty one races.
Nominated for the Masters Young Racer of the Year award.
Winner of the 2018 Young Racer of the Year title.

2017 – COMPETING IN THUNDERSPORT UK, IRISH MASTERS & BSB
Two wins in Thundersport 600 Elite Championship.
Two Masters Supersport Cup wins from two starts.
British Superbike Championship Superstock 600 debut.

2016 – COMPETING IN THUNDERSPORT UK AND IRISH MASTERS
Fifth in the Thundersport Aprilia RRV450 Challenge.

Two Aprilia RRV450 Thundersport wins.
Nineteen podium finishes.
Three second place finishes from four starts in the Masters Supertwin Championship.
Donegal Sports Star award nominee.

2015 – COMPETING IN THUNDERSPORT UK AND IRISH MASTERS
Numerous podiums and race wins in Thundersport GB Aprilia Championship.

Finished on the Supertwins podium at Mondello Park on his underpowered Thundersport Aprilia.
Finished second at the ‘Sunflower’ International event on his first outing on a full Supertwin.
Two wins in Thundersport GB’s Aprilia Challenge.
Eleven top three finishes.
Fifth in the Thundersport GB Aprilia Challenge.
Three second place finishes from four starts in the Masters Supertwin Championship.

2014 – CIRCUIT RACING DEBUT SEASON
Finished on the podium in his first ever race.

Took his maiden race win at his second ever event.
Finished the year as Masters Moto3 Champion and Ulster Newcomers Moto3 Champion.
Invited to take part in the Red Bull Rookies selection even and became the first Republic of Ireland rider to make it to the final.
Competed in his first UK race weekend.
